No longer under lock down and no shooter was found.
Thanks for adding that! I'm glad it was a false alarm. I do wonder what happened, why they took one report of a gunshot so seriously. Is that typical? It doesn't seem like it is, but IDK. It caused such a huge disturbance. Maybe we'll learn more later.
It's very typical, the military believes a gun shot happened until it's 100% proven that it didn't. Especially in such a high profile place and us being at Bravo due to ISIS' threats.
Thank you for replying. That's good to know. I don't know anything about how the military operates, clearly. I guess they can usually determine if there's an actual problem or not before things get to this point? Otherwise, it seems like this kind of thing would be way more frequent. Now I'm wondering if whoever reported a gunshot actually heard fireworks since it's so close to the 4th.
It's not unlikely that they heard fireworks I heard some today, the military usually goes full lock down when they get a call about gunshots. It's better safe than sorry, plus it's a great training opportunity for security forces. It puts everyone on their toes and gets the adrenaline pumping since it's a 'real world' scenario. Plus it doesn't really cost any money since everyone participating would already be on duty.
A similar incident happened at the Washington Navy Yard last week. Strange.
