The fifth shark attack in two weeks has taken place off the North Carolina coast, after a beachgoer was bitten while swimming in the Outer Banks, just moments after helping a group of children ashore.

In Australia some speak of 'problem sharks' and wanting to get rid of them - as if they're a murderous minority unlike other sharks.
Sharks will be sharks, you're in their waters and they're likely hungry. I'd probably stay away for some time.
It's amazing that North Carolina hasn't handled the situation better. There are lots of sharks hanging out there right now for whatever reason, but obviously authorities have not done an adequate job of informing everyone. Sharks will be sharks, as you say, so people need to take necessary precautions.
