Protester Removes Confederate Flag at South Carolina Capitol
An activist in Columbia, S.C., removed the Confederate battle flag from its perch outside the State House building Saturday, before she was arrested and the flag replaced, the police said. After the protester scaled the 30-foot flagpole, a Bureau of Protective Services officer arrested her and a man who had aided her.
