I think Dawkins' intentions are good, and he truly is a smart guy, but perhaps the massive intellectual blowjob he's been given by Internet media and edgy teenagers has affected his way of approaching things. Of course, he needs a loud voice so people can be aware of these issues, but nobody will listen to him if instead of delicately talking about these issues he just talks about what sub-human you are compared to him and his entourage of edgy teens.

The scientist has stepped into the religion arena, of course he is doing harm to his reputation. The way he endorses atheism is akin to that of a prophet or preacher endorsing their own religions.
