Here Are the Four Types of Drunks, According to Science
Are you a Mary Poppins, a Mr. Hyde, a Nutty Professor, or an Ernest Hemingway? You know when you’re out with your friends at a bar, and you’ve all had the same amount to drink, yet one friend is giggling uncontrollably, another is telling a hilarious story to a group of strangers, a third is picking a fight with the bouncer, and the last is talking to the bartender as if those four Jägerbombs never happened? You might have wondered, well, what’s up with that?

Searching for Mr. Hyde: A five-factor approach to characterizing ‘‘types of drunks’’ (PDF)
Some individuals ‘‘change’’ more dramatically than others when intoxicated, and the nature and magnitude of these changes can result in harmful outcomes. This study utilized reports (N1⁄4374) of participants’ ‘‘typical’’ five-factor model (FFM) characteristics across sober and intoxicated states.

A tidbit from the study I found interesting: Both Hemingways and Nutty Professors are pretty evenly split by gender (50 and 48% male, respectively). The majority of both Mary Poppins (Poppinses?) and Mr Hydes appear to be female (63 and 67%).
There were more women than men in the study, but those numbers still didn't seem to make sense to me, so I went ahead and worked out how each gender fell into each category:
(Hemingways/Mary Poppinses/Mister Hydes/Nutty Professors) Females: (36%/16%/26%/22%) Males: (47%/14%/17%/22%)
I guess I'm a Nutty Professor, based solely on the +Extraversion in the summary. I'm an introvert, and it's easy to understand my social inabilities are mostly in the head.
I don't know what type I would be.
Apparently I am a Mary Poppins.
That's the best kind! ;)
I've been told on many occasions that I'm the "Earnest Hemingway" type. It can be a bit of a problem because people sometimes want me to drink more when I'm already feeling quite drunk. I just don't get as wacky as some, though I do get more talkative maybe. I'm pretty friendly and talkative in general, so I guess there's not much difference. It's interesting to learn that the "Hemingway" type is the largest group.
I turn into a flirty chatterbox. :-D
Hemingway here.
I would categorize myself as a Nutty Professor/Hemingway mix. It depends on where I am and who I'm with.
