I have been suspicious of this person since the whole whistle blowing incident. Now with the death of Adrian Lamo, it got me re-examining this person. The death penalty for trweason was abolished in 1990. Why Manning received a 35 year sentence, and supposedly served 7 makes me raise my eyebrow. Now she associates herself in this Alt-right group under the guise of espionage. Is she pro government, or anti government. She clearly can't make up her mind. This whole thing reeks of blatantly sloppy puppeteering.Whatever is going on with this one, she is obviously a lying snake.Personally, I am always leary of whistleblowing stories due to the real possibilty of dis-information agendas. Anyone who supports this person needs to seriously look at the facts. I don't understand how running for senate is even an option after comitting treason. This is just prime example of negligence of the American citizen in regards of helping progress the country is a positive direction. A portion of the LGBT community is either blindly supporting her, or not doing their homework. This is not a good person.
What is your charge of treason based on? Manning was convicted of violating orders, the Espionage Act, and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Or is it that documenting the systematic commission of war crimes is, in itself, treason as far as you're concerned? Perhaps it's truth that's treason? Or history, when it's meant to be secret history? Not even the military sought the death penalty. Maybe that has something to do with not having leaked any top secret information.
Instead, Manning was tortured in prison. As command, members of the administration, military jurisprudence, the United Nations, and President Obama found.

Such a bizarre formulation of progress you have, that exposing wrongdoing is treason, and that doing so makes one an enemy of the state. Sounds more like authoritarianism, whatevs.

She actually did leak hundreds of thousands of classified documents. No she was not "charged" with treason by the United States. Leaking documents that can potentially harm the United States is treason. She downloaded personal information on American soldiers involved in the Iraq conflict. I understand her intentions with exposing the "collateral murder" video,butdoing so she put those soldiers and their families lives at risk. I do not agree with rich men with agendas ordering American soldiers to fight their wars and kill on command. The fact is that those soldiers were ordered to do what they did. While you are waiting for me to explain how she is a liar, I am fairly confident this entire article is about her infiltrating Cassandra Fairbanks and her circle of associates. Chelsea Manning states herself that she was acting as a double agent. I consider someone who pretends to have your interests in mind while working against you, to be a snake. Her actions were reckless and poorly executed. These are not good traits of what I would like to see in a senator.

Whatever you say. I'm not overly worried that someone on the internet is wrong. To my mind, though, you don't get what treason is. Sometimes the decent thing, the patriotic thing is to oppose your government's policy. Not simply to question, but to act. Consequences schmonshiquences. Consequences she endures, by the way.
In Vietnam by 1968, American policy was to "kill anything that moves." Arriving at the scene of one such "search and destroy" mission, one helicopter crew commanded by Hugh Thompson intervened to protect, by force, surviving Vietnamese civilians from advancing American troops. You might call that treason. If you'll forgive my saying so, that's pretty fucked up.
