Damn straight. The government can say under what physical conditions you're allowed to drive, operate machinery, etc. That's fine. We don't need people driving high any more than we need people driving drunk. But for god's sake, marijuana is not dangerous. It's safer than tobacco and alcohol.
It's illegal completely as a way to oppress people, specifically minorities. Good documentary for anyone surprised by this claim: The House I Live In. Crazy enlightening, and horrifying.
Just to play devil's advocate, why that particular set of criteria for government? I don't see much difference between free education and free healthcare. Both are given to people when they are particularly vulnerable, and have significant measured benefits for the recipients. They also, where implemented, are generally not great; while public schools are good enough, many parents opt for expensive private schools, and the same things happens in many countries with free healthcare. Why are you OK with spending money on roads in Alaska for someone you'll never meet, but not OK with paying for their food?
