Drew Peterson appears in court on murder-for-hire charge
Convicted killer Drew Peterson appeared briefly in a downstate courtroom Monday after being charged with trying to put a hit on the prosecutor who sent him away for 38 years. Wearing his prison uniform and shackles, Peterson received a copy of the charges against him and asked for a public defender, officials said.
