This kind of thing happens constantly at /r/worldnews. As with most any story there, conventional wisdom sometimes concludes it’s a Zionist conspiracy, other times that it’s a deep-cover Muslim Brotherhood cabal infiltration team, yet other times a little-known SRS redditrequest at a key moment. If you really want to pull the rock off and see what scurries around under there in stories like this, find the corresponding post at Voat. Much like when the lights come on at the end of the night at your local dive bar, nobody comes out looking at all well.

/r/politics mods are busy trying to shut down discussion of the arrest of the Oregon militants. It appears that the large number of community members who think it isn't off-topic is irrelevant.

Unfortunately this is the exact reason I left Reddit and came here full time.

This has been going on a while- there is definitely something questionable at play here, but what that is anyone's guess. All I know is Reddit went from being a fairly fair and balanced place to chat about issues, review news articles and what not curated by other users. But just like Digg, they fell way to some kind of sponsorship, whether that be being on some gov't payroll, media outlet, or corporate sponsorship is also up for debate.

It may be impossible to figure it out because everyone in the know has been incredibly tight-lipped about it. The kind of silence usually only provided by someone with a gov't clearance level.

I absolutely do not and cannot until this type of thing starts getting reported. That's kind of the point right? I stayed over at Reddit for a few weeks after my fears were proven justified when my own commentary was clipped in a similar ring. Then I stumbled aimlessly for about an hour then found SnapZu.

I am willing to search far and wide for a trust-worthy and knowledgeable community to hang my hat.

Multi-tribe posting. For a story to get buried, it must be removed from all relevant tribes. Quite an harder feat.

I wouldn't vote for this story as it is obviously not news but a right wing rant (the whole site). Anyway, it you want racism inspired "news" there is still plenty of it over there. And Israel propaganda among other sponsored content.

Here are some other snaps you may like...
