The chili vs chile confusion has got to stop. This war has gone on long enough, and there have been numerous casualties due to the careless ambiguity of language.
I defer final judgement to the director of the official Chile Pepper Institute at New Mexico State University. I think we can all agree he is an authority on the matter.
Think of the mis-seasoned meals, people. Think before you send inexperienced home cooks to the grocer with the completely wrong ingredient on their shopping list.
