    OK, but I'd say the vast majority of Twitter users use Twitter exactly because the short format avoids boring political rants and debates. If people want to go on a political rant, there's Facebook and Tumblr. So I'm not sure that the average Twitter users wants to read political things to begin with; most of them are trying to avoid that sort of thing. Therefore I predict that removing the 'like' tool probably isn't going to have the effect that Twitter was hoping for, but then again you never know.
