Big Blue's IT is a mess. Trying to do anything on LeaveWeb, AF Portal, vMPF, travel vouchers...anything, is a crapshoot. They even have a stoplight page for the status of the different systems. The status page isn't even reliably available. It been this way since before I retired over a decade ago. It will likely be so a decade from now.
Air Force "programmers" are mostly reviewing contractor code, or are working help desk. It's not a good career field choice if you want to code.
