Goodbye, Password. Banks Opt to Scan Fingers and Faces Instead.
The banking password may be about to expire — forever. Some of the nation’s largest banks, acknowledging that traditional passwords are either too cumbersome or no longer secure, are increasingly using fingerprints, facial scans and other types of biometrics to safeguard accounts. Millions of customers at Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo routinely use fingerprints to log into their bank accounts through their mobile phones.

But fingerprints and facial scans are more like usernames than passwords. Come on banks, and don't do anything stupid.

Nope, the day I need to supply either to a private company is the day I stop using that company. It's already creepy enough the FBI is creating a face database without allowing me to opt out, I'd hate for private companies to do it so easily. This reminds me of the credit card companies saying they would like to use facial recognition cameras on point of sale machines to confirm you own the card you are using.
