I've seen this sort of behavior for years and it absolutely made no sense. On a website that promotes Linux,21 pages were wasted to convince this one person he could indeed use Linux...He never was convinced and finally the Admin showed him the door...Just the other day I got in a pissing contest with a person who thought acupuncture was the cure for what ailed her pet. Stupid me drug up research papers proving it is useless. She clung to he beliefs even more firmly and all but one person agreed with her. I gave up. But this helped me understand what was actually going on,so thanks for this.
