Abandoned, shunned , and marginalized for many years. This was a very thoughtful article. I've read several like this of the past few years, and I am glad to see this growing self examination.

I think your comment was probably mangled in the editor. All that's showing here is a sentence fragment without so much as a verb phrase. The 'LOL' came through okay, but deprived of any kind of meaning to attach to it, seems a little hollow.
