We've gotten used to a government where everything happens secretly with no oversight, and we're forced to believe whatever they say in the name of National Security. Intelligence agencies are suddenly the Gospel and everything they say must be believed without questioning. In this case the whole apparatus is being used to create a red herring to save the face of the Democratic Party and potentially shield Hillary Clinton from prosecution. I had a low opinion of Obama already, but this is the cherry on the cake.
Mercifully, voices of reason like Matt Taibbi are reporting this. "Nothing but will of good people between us and the abyss" eh?
Yep, "fake news" doesn't just arise from the internet or other media, it's endorsed/promoted from
the highest office in our land.
