First off, the words Photonic Hypercrystals need to be spoken with Montgomery Christopher Jorgensen Scott's voice or it just doesn't sound right.....it's right up there with dilithium crystals, bilitrium or "She can't take much more of this , Captain!"...and secondly I just bookmarked this site, it's awesome!
After reading the article, I still have no idea what photonic hypercrystals actually do. I assume that because this is the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers they do something important, but what?.
Well they come up with spiffy names for a start!
It's the engineers. After it's research, before it's just technology, they're up to things like /t/photonics and /t/spintronics. Yes, it makes our heads spin now but in no time we'll take it all for granted like the wheel or the inclined plane or the universal answer machines that knows all languages and has every book memorized. You know, everyday stuff.
