    There is “a clear understanding on the part of the rank and file in the Border Patrol that if they should engage in whistleblower activities, or do anything to promote transparency, that they would be retaliated against in a way that would likely end their career.”

    So pretty much like any other law enforcement agency in the US.

    Edit: And just this fact is enough to be sure that they’re being abusive and cruel. Otherwise, why do they need to hide and shut up?
