US health care isn't about people surviving illness or helping people live longer, it's about money. In the US they want, now require, you to buy and pay for insurance, then on top of the $10,000 you pay for your health insurance you now have a $10,000 dollar deductible you must pay before they start helping you, all while the hospital system is for profit meaning they have the incentive to keep prices high all while blaming it on insurance and non-insured people.

You'll notice they like to call it health reform when talking about the ACA/Obamacare, but it was actually insurance reform to the tune of forcing everyone to buy a private product or pay a large penalty to the government.
