    Yeah, judge a guy for what he said and wrote back in 1926 with today standards, way to go. Imagine how we'll look to people in 2100 (2500, 3000) with their standards (if we make it that far) .

      You say that like he was being plucked out of time and brought forward to today to receive his judgement by modern standards. We can only consider figures in history from the reference frame of our times. Because of that, are we supposed to pretend that every historical figure is all sweetness and light, even Lovecraft?

        No , that's not what i'm saying. What i'm saying is we can't see the past with today's glasses, that doesn't mean we have to pretend anything and especially to what you are saying. We can study the history and see what was going on in his time and form an opinion based on that , that doesn't mean that he was or he wasn't right or wrong, good or bad... This is just my opinion and how i see it and i dont know if you understand what i mean, maybe if english was my native language I would have said it better.

        P.S. I wish i was a time traveler!
