    The color of the year is such a huge, if subconscious way to drive consumer trends. The second the color of the year is made known, there is a mad dash to be "in fashion", resulting in millions of dollars in purchases of makeup, clothing, furniture, and every other conceivable item. This will last a year before another color will be announced and sought after. It drives trends in everything having to do with color.
