Prior to the season, Microsoft and the NFL struck a 5-year, $400 million deal with one of the major components being that the Microsoft Surface would become "the official tablet of the NFL" with coaches and players using the Surface on the sidelines during games.

It will be hard to penetrate the iPads massive user base, NFL contract or not. They should have used the $400 million somewhere else.
Yep, at this point it feels almost too late. Unless they come up with something truly game changing they will always be behind the market curve, an no amount of money thrown at it will make a difference.
