These psychological traits have been long manifest in our dominant political systems/parties, so to some extent it could obviously be genetic and therefore "in the wiring". In the UK the Conservative Party demonstrate certain of these tendencies consistently. In the USA I believe it is the Republican Party that would more easily be identified as such.

It is truly a distortion and biased view to say this would be a three person baby. I don't recall seeing any similar criticism of Blood Transfusions, Organ or other tissue donations on these grounds. Mitochondrial DNA would be such a small fraction of the child's complement of DNA, but would end some horrendous genetic outcomes. Some sense from our politicians for once!

They are perhaps with us already . . . .simply informed humans not taken in by the hokey-pokey of Religion. 2,600 years of the Abrahamic variety, who invented God to justify being a put down and enslaved tribe in Babylon. We modern scholars know that Genesis and Exodus in the Pentateuch are pure creation myth and Invention respectively. Sadly the promised land was part of this invention strategy. Occasional modern Rabbis even accede to this view. That the Christian and Islamic traditions followed in the same faulty footsteps leaves us in this modern mess! It gave one tribe hope but sowed the seeds of much future conflict.
