Managing the Millennials
Millennials will be a powerful generation of workers; those with the right skills will be in high demand. In reality, there are strong similarities between millennials and the generations that have preceded them: they want security and variety in their career; they want to be stretched and challenged; they want to work for a company of which they can be proud; and they have every intention of being loyal.

Totally understood... I have to ask, though... what is the tribe for women you mentioned?

I agree with the idea of a "bad content" button, because it seems like the idea of "report" is more in line with a "hey, this might actually be kind of illegal" kind of idea... Reddit already had a report button, and the downvotes kept coming. If it was mainly a button for bad content, it might work better, but then again, there will always be those conservatives who think HuffPo is bad content, and those liberals who think Fox News is bad content... I wish people would just voice their issues in the comments...

One can only try :-) I will always be a faker to some here in China, but I do my best as a lowly 老外!

I completely agree and empathize. Being a teenager was hard, but not in the way that the adults in my life seemed to think it was difficult at the time. I am (thankfully!) far beyond me teenage years now, but this poem still resonates with me. I think it speaks not only to the angst of teenage years, but to the zeitgeist of an age. I work with teenagers now every day, and I don't see them as children to talk down to, but as young adults to nurture, teach logic, history, and critical and abstract thinking, and then listen to their ideas. I think that is too often brushed aside in society and education.

Hahaha, that's really the problem with Google Translate, and how one tells the fakers from the speakers ;-)
It says, "Haha, I did not realize! I currently live in China. I am a white devil, heehee. Google Translate is not very useful for colloquial Chinese."

I'm glad, too. If more of us banded together, perhaps we could figure out how to get this work done? I don't want to be an armchair activist, but this kind of rhetoric really makes me realize how off-course some elements of our society seem to be.
I've stared tribes for /t/millennials and /t/livingwage. If you're interested in these topics, stop on by! I am looking for other interested folk, contributors, and moderators!

This hits close to home. I have been living in China for the last year, gaining work experience and improving my Mandarin as a way to differentiate myself in the market and try to gain relevant and useful work experience since it is so hard to come by in the United States.
Check out /t/millennials - we'd love this kind of content in our tribe!

Is It Time For Companies To Pay For Not Paying Enough? The "Walmart Tax" Gains Momentum
When employers don’t pay their workers a living wage, taxpayers are forced to pick up the tab in the form of government assistance. Some states are considering telling the poor-paying companies to pick up the tab instead.

Joblessness not due to skills gap, experts say
"Every time you hear someone say 'I can't find the workers I need,' add the phrase 'at the wage I want to pay'," said Heidi Shierholz, an economist for the Economic Policy Institute, a Washington, D.C., economic research organization.
