The last one was pretty spectacular. My son and daughter actually got to see it. They were driving to Vegas to meet my wife and I (me and my wife? I always get those confused) and they called me as it was happening. My daughter tried to Facetime me, but I wasn't able to see it. I told them that I read that a Chinese satellite was coming down and that was probably what they were seeing. They thought it was the mothership coming to take them home.

The way I understand the usage of me vs I is to drop the other pronoun and write the sentence about yourself. So it would be "...driving to meet me (and my wife)". Another example is "(My wife and) I enjoy traveling".
