Facebook threatens to ban Australians from sharing news
Australians could be blocked from sharing news content on Facebook and Instagram, with news organisations not allowed to post their content to the platforms if a world-first attempt to govern news on social media becomes law.

It's not really a world first attempt. It was tried in Germany, then Spain. Google stopped listing Spanish news sources in Spain, so that went well. If this one passes we would expect something very similar to Spain.
