Pair face cruelty charge for stowing cat in checked luggage

A Florida couple was cited after a cat was found “without food, water or air” inside their luggage at Erie International Airport. Two Florida residents headed home after the holidays without their young cat after the feline was found stowed away inside a piece of checked luggage at the Erie International Airport on New Year’s Day. Slim, a 6-month-old female cat, was discovered inside a piece of luggage filled with clothes and other items as its owners were preparing to fly from Erie to Tampa, Florida, late Monday morning, according to Erie International Airport Police.
