Federal court won't stay Ala. same-sex marriage ruling
A federal appeals court Tuesday denied Alabama's request to stay a lower court's decision striking down the state's same-sex marriage ban. The ban remained in effect as Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange appealed the ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court, and the federal judge who struck down the ruling declined to lift a stay of her order until Feb. 9.
