The article sounded cocky. But the point he's trying to get across is that you should try to build a business around a feature that can be placed in at any given time, especially if it starts becoming popular among the users. Everyone knows that FB shamelessly copies features likes there's no tomorrow.
Exactly... Remember their blatant dupe of an app called Poke.
Poke was basically dead after like 2 weeks. But it wasn't a part of FB, it was more of a standalone feature. This is different.
