Putin says traditional values do not mean persecution of gays
President Vladimir Putin on Friday said his support for traditional family values does not mean gays and lesbians will be persecuted, despite what many describe as a crackdown on homosexuals in Russia. In his state-of-the-nation address on Thursday Putin said "healthy family" and traditional values were among Russia's top priorities.
