I'm too late for July 4th, but for those who are in the mood for a protest album, stream Desaparecidos' new album Payola!
It's been 13 years since Desaparecidos, Conor Oberst's leftist punk rock band, released Read Music / Speak Spanish, their great debut album. Desaparecidos never officially broke up, but they went inactive for many years, only coming back in 2010 to play a few live shows and to release a few great one-off singles.
