National green tribunal bans the use of disposable plastic in Delhi NCR, Effective January 1st.
In a bid to eradicate the use of plastic, the National Green Tribunal has banned the use of disposable plastic, which is mainly used for grocery and regular chai cups in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), with effect from Jan 1st, 2017. Items like plastic tea cups, plates, spoons etc will be banned. This rule comes in at a time when the nation, especially Delhi/NCR is in dire need of a pollution-free environment. In the past couple of months, we've seen the place taking a massive hit due to the ills of pollution.

Delhi bans disposable plastics
India’s capital city, Delhi, has taken a courageous step toward fighting plastic pollution. In December 2016, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) voted to pass a law banning the use of all disposable plastics throughout the national capital region. This came into effect on January 1, 2017.
