Climate Prediction Center: ENSO Diagnostic Discussion
Synopsis: There is a greater than 90% chance that El Niño will continue through Northern Hemisphere winter 2015-16, and around an 80% chance it will last into early spring 2016.

Any weather honks out there have an opinion or forecast around the confluence of a wintertime El Niño and "the blob" in the Pacific?
I think the northern Pacific will be very active with tropical storms,but winter in the northern hemisphere is to far away yet.
