The homeless people in Hackney, London are facing expulsion from the street due to a new law will allow the police to give out fines and other legal penalties to homeless people who are found loitering, begging and sleeping in commercial places. Good, good. Excellent policy. Next we could reinstate debtors' prisons. Then we can start putting mentally ill in chains, public executions and really just keep moving backwards into the Bronze Age till we're stoning people to death for blasphemy. Or adultery. Or homosexuality. Or any dissent of any kind.
