Crickets. I used to be terrified of them, had nightmares of them eating me alive, and would have panic attacks if I saw one. Then I was left to care for someone else's lizard, and I decided the lizard's need for food outweighed my personal fear/revulsion, and I fed it live crickets. It was awful, but it helped me grow past the fear. I'm fine around them now and even find them quite interesting.

I think this is an incredibly broad question, and one that cannot really be answered. Which part of the community? For which actions? If you specified the parameters of your question more narrowly and specifically, you might get more meaningful responses, but as this question currently stands, I don't think anyone could adequately respond.

There are quite a few different theories/explanations for the "meaning" of a red door. There are a few interpretations here, and I'll add that it's also said that, in the case of a church door, the red door often means that the church offers sanctuary. Originally, this means someone running from a police force or some such could run inside, and the police had to respect the sanctuary and could not arrest/etc. the person as long as they remained in the sanctuary, but in the more modern sense, churches will interpret the idea of sanctuary in a variety of different ways. Either way, it's still generally related to its roots of the right of asylum in a broad sense, at least when the red door is interpreted as meaning sanctuary. Just thought I'd share!

Yeah, I saw that. Keeping plastic out of the oceans is different than ocean clean up, which is why I mentioned removal. The Quartz link I just added has slightly different wording: "The project is a part of a larger initiative to rid the seas of “plastic soup.”" That's still vague and could just mean working to prevent additional plastic being added rather than attempts to clean-up the mess.

I think this is an interesting idea, and at the same time I'm curious as to how much something like this justifies the continued production of new plastic. Not saying it does, but it's something to consider. What I think would be especially cool is if it'd be possible to build roads like this using materials from the Great Pacific garbage patch, although I'm not sure how easy removing the plastic (which are very small pieces) would be. The other consideration is not that we don't have use for recycled plastic, but that we just simply don't recycle plastic very much. Even when you toss it in your recycle bin, that's hardly a guarantee that it'll be recycled, for a variety of reasons.
Just some brain-dump thoughts. Thanks for linking this!

The best way to confirm is to ask something that only you would know the answer to, that cannot be found in any records (including speaking aloud because of the risk of recording), that is extremely unlikely you'd ever share (to rule out the possibility of it being someone else from the future), and that you can reasonably expect you would remember at any point in the future, barring any significant damage to your memory. Ideally, something insignificant that you have nonetheless remembered for an unreasonable amount of time. Given all that, my question would be: "What is the answer to the question that I would use to confirm your identity as future me?"

You've never been too tired to sleep?? Lucky you! I Googled too tired to sleep and got 28.5 million results. It's a symptom of insomnia, and it's a common enough experience that even Yahoo refers to it in headlines.
