How do I better my writing style and formating?

Not that was the idea the came up from the >Writing > section, but got to thinking I should try calligraphy, Poetry, again, so how does one achieve this goal? Meaning I want to write neatly and have a new choice of words to use and formatting.. Want a place to learn all this A link if you will..
