How are you using Win10?

I'm just curious as to how the members of this Tribe are using Win10, and your experience so far. Are you using it in a VM, spare device, primary device, etc.

I loaded Win10 over Win8.1 on my gaming laptop, and it's been running great. I haven't experienced any deal breaking bugs, or really any bugs at all. I kinda wish I had more use for Cortana though.

I've been running it on my gaming PC since the beginning. Also had it running on my old tablet but I've been holding back on my Surface Pro 3. Starting to get a bit impatient so I'll probably be putting 10 on it very shortly lol.

I'd really like to try it on a Surface, if only to play with the touch features.

Yeah, I mainly want to try out Edge on it. Being able to easily write on and share websites sounds great. Way better than using the Snipping tool.

I haven't been using it personally, but my girlfriend is part of the Insider program and has been running it on her laptop that she uses to mess around with coding (she codes servers for a living) and various programs. So far she's mostly used it to test what programs can be used on Win10 and what you can do with it, and she likes it a lot and prefers it greatly over 8.1.

The new UI is pretty nice. And I'm a fan of the revamped Start menu. In my experience so far, I haven't had any programs that didn't work right after the upgrade, I'm guessing your girlfriend has had a similar experience.

Yes, she actually praised the fact that everything worked very well for it. She also really loved the Start menu, and even said Edge was pretty good, though she remains a solid Chrome fangirl. What'd you think of Edge?

I think Edge is neat, I'd really like to try it on a touch screen device, like a Surface. That said Chrome is still my browser of choice, I'm a bit too deep into the Google ecosystem to move away from it.

Heh, that was her reasoning too, and I don't think I could abandon Chrome either. It's too easy to move between my Surface (looking forward to Win10 on it) and desktop with all my bookmarks and tabs saved. Though I may play with Edge a bit for fun.

Make sure you get signed up for the insider program on your Surface so you can grab Win10 sooner rather than later. I don't think you'd have any issues upgrading as the Surface seems to be Microsoft's dev unit for Win10. I imagine the RTM build will be around the corner soon.

I made sure to do that, heh, and I'm excited for July 29!
