Temperature control

Temp control seems to be the new thing in vaping. It seems that its main perk is no dry hits which has its obvious advanteges. I was reading through a recipe and it called for vaping at 400 degrees. Is temp control a new way to get the best flavor out of your juice? Could anyone around here fill me in?

I find most juices to be static in terms of my temp settings. Usually it all boils down to a warmer or colder vape which also seems to affect the thickness of the vape. What I can say though is that TC has provided me with a cleaner overall vape which I would attribute to a better flavor. Also, the lack of any dry hits is just phenomenal. While I do think Kanthal has its place in flavor, every time I switch back to a Kanthal vape I get this metallic taste that I don't get with nickel.

I don't know that I've ever tried anything but Kanthal. How is building with nickel?

Honestly I find it easier to work with than Kanthal. Rip Trippers put up a nice video on how to do a simple nickel build and his technique has made it extremely easy for me to get consistent results. It takes some getting used to and depending on your RDA it can be tricky to get a strong connection at first but once you complete your first solid build it's a very unique and rewarding vape. After a while you start to notice where your shortcomings might be and most often it's a simple matter of tightening up your connection to get things working properly.

Nice! I might have to order some nickel wire. What TC mod are you currently using?

Vaporshark rDNA40. My only complaint is the "sweet spot" for building (.11-.17 ohms) is a bit restrictive, but it makes it that much more fun to try and cram a crazy build in there. Coming from a Sigelei 150W the form factor is a huge plus for me.
