CD Projekt Red Will "Probably" Return to World of The Witcher - It Just Won't Be The Witcher 4

CD Projekt Red still isn't planning to make a Witcher 4, but that doesn't mean it won't make games set in the same universe. Speaking to Strefa Inwestorow (and translated by IGN Poland), CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiciński explained that while the company sees Geralt's Witcher trilogy as definitively finished, the company still owns the IP.

Enhanced Edition Mod for Witcher III Offers Total Overhaul of Combat

CD Projekt Red has released numerous patches and updates to improve The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. The 1.61 update, released recently, implemented HDR support for the PS4 Pro. While that update also had some bugs, the company is already working on another patch to fix the issue. However, most of CD Projekt Red’s updates have focused on graphical improvements. Some fans of the game have long been working on a mod of their own, entitled the “Enhanced Edition,” which aims at completely reworking the game’s combat system.

Casting about to begin for THE WITCHER TV series

To protect from spoilers, the production team has written all-new scenes for the characters that won't be part of the TV series itself. However, the notes confirm that Geralt, Yennefer and Jaskier will be among the roles being cast. Also of interest is that Geralt's bard companion will be called "Jaskier" rather than the more frequent English translation of "Dandelion," the name by which he is known in the video games and some of the English translations of the books.

Henry Cavill Will Lead Netflix's Witcher Series as Geralt of Rivia

The Witcher has found its, err, Witcher—in none other than DC’s Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill. Netflix’s Witcher series—showrun by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and based on the fantasy novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, rather than the wildly popular video game adaptations by CD Projekt Red—has been quietly bubbling away in the background for the last year or so...

Metro 2033 Author Calls The Witcher's Andrzej Sapkowski An "Old Fool"

Oh my! It seems two experts of the written word will have a war of words of their own. The first shot comes from Dmitry Glukhovsky, author of the Metro 2033 series of novels. Glukhovsky slammed the author of The Witcher series, Andrzej Sapkowski, for the latter’s recent demand of $16 million from CD Projekt Red. Among the criticisms Glukhovsky dished out were that the brains behind The Witcher novels was an “old fool” and that he’s “an ungrateful schmuck.” The video interview below is entirely in Russian but we’ll give a short transcript of the juicy bits.

The Witcher 3 is coming to the Nintendo Switch

CD Projekt Red’s open-world classic The Witcher 3 is going portable. Today, Nintendo revealed that the game, which first launched in 2015, will be available on the Switch later this year. It’ll be a “complete edition,” so players will get access to the base game as well as the handful of subsequent expansions. The Witcher 3 joins a growing list of older games that are finding new life on Nintendo’s portable / console hybrid, including the likes of Skyrim, LA Noire, Dark Souls, Diablo 3, and, most recently, Dragon’s Dogma.

The Entirety Of Witcher III Will Be Squeezed Onto A Single Switch Cartridge

The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is a large game in several ways. Before its announcement during Nintendo's E3 2019 Direct, many doubted its huge world could be squeezed onto Switch's mobile chipset, but it seems that Saber Interactive has (hopefully) found a way.

'The Witcher' Showrunner Says Netflix Series Will Never Adapt the Video Games

Netflix’s “The Witcher” is best known in the U.S. for the series of role playing video games by CD Projekt Red rather than the fantasy novels by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski that inspired the games. But if the show ever moves past the story laid out in the books like “Game of Thrones” did, Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich says fans should definitely not expect it to mine the games for material.

Of course The Witcher 3 looks blurrier on Switch - but it's still brilliant

I’ve seen it, it’s real, and it’s a little bit like magic. The Witcher 3 runs on the Nintendo Switch – and sure it looks worse, but who cares? It fits in your pocket. That should probably be CD Projekt’s official marketing line for the Nintendo Switch version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – “Yes it looks worse, but it fits in your pocket, shut up.” What you’ve got here is a version of one of the greatest and largest RPGs of all time that’s been scaled back visually but is also uncompromised in terms of content...

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now well and truly available on Nintendo Switch - and well worth playing, too - but there's even more Witcher goodness to come. That's right, you'll soon be able to play the game with an officially licensed controller (or any other game, for that matter).

The Witcher on Netflix 'leans more towards horror' than fantasy

The Witcher videogames are fantasy RPGs, based on fantasy novels and short stories written by Andrzej Sapkowski. But The Witcher series on Netflix "leans more towards horror," visual effects supervisor Julian Parry told SFX magazine (via GamesRadar), because the world of The Witcher is actually pretty horrific—and also because it's easier to manage.

You can relax: Netflix's Witcher series kicks ass

The Witcher TV series is not Game of Thrones. There are too many oversaturated scenes and folk tale monsters. It's not Lord of the Rings. There's too much pointless death with zero lessons learned. It's not quite the books or the games it pulls from, either, but somewhere suspended in between. The first season of The Witcher show is an original interpretation of Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy epic with a massive Netflix-sized budget, and it's not just a great adaptation, it's one of the best shows I've seen this year.

Netflix’s The Witcher is a dark, funny, and faithful adaptation of the fantasy series

You learn nearly everything you need to know about The Witcher hero Geralt (Henry Cavill) a few minutes into the first episode. The titular witcher — a work-for-hire monster hunter with some helpful superpowers — is first seen in a swamp, nearly killed by a giant spider monster, beaten and almost drowned. In the next scene, Geralt heads to a local pub for information on his next quest, only to be subjected to ridicule and scorn from villagers who are scared of his supernatural nature. Ultimately, he’s saved from a barroom brawl thanks to a helpful young woman, who very quickly becomes a romantic partner.
