Welcome to the Sims! Does anyone like Sims 4 more than Sims 3?
If you do, what are your favorite features? If not what do you miss most from Sims 3?
I really miss the dishwashers! lol

I'm not sure. On one hand, The Sims 4 runs a lot better than 3. My game was almost impossible to play without mods to control the story progression, my computer just wouldn't handle it, but 4 runs perfectly (and it's more recent, so this shouldn't be the case). One the other hand, there is a lot of stuff missing that I just don't get why. I mean toddlers, dishwashers, different stair models, clothes and objects customization, locks, terrain tools, gardeners... There aren't even good rugs! (Ok, there are nice rugs, but they're not versatile at all.) Everything is easier instead of realistic (getting groceries is at an all time low - even in The Sims 2 you had to order them) but there are still a lot of weird things going on (Why won't they eat their food in an appropriate amount of time? Do you really need to look at the wall for a couple of minutes in between bites?).
So, in short, it's a simpler but smoother game. Not sure if I prefer it over the previous games.
I have to agree that they take way too long to eat in the sims 4! I also wish you could speed through the current action like you could with the sims 3.
I prefer Sims 4 to Sims 3, but my god, I could not agree with you more about the rugs!
Why do you like it more?
I find the build mode to be much more intuitive, fun and easy to use. I love being able to move whole rooms! I also really enjoy the way emotions work, becoming focused and inspired, and how they tied that into going to work/school and skill building. Not only does the game run smoother (Sims 3 was such a beast) I think it looks smoother too! I really do't mind the more cartoon-ish look. It works for me.
I don't miss the open world, my little neighborhood gives me enough to explore to keep me happy, and I find the loading time between lots doesn't interrupt my gameplay too much. I was sad when there were no pools, but that's since been remedied! Also, I never really liked the Toddler stage, so I wasn't too sad to see it missing.
I do agree with what you said above though - I constantly find myself hitting 4 thinking it will speed up until the end of the action! I also had to change the camera controls to the Sims 3 way, I couldn't adjust to the new ones.
I'm a Sims 3 fan all the way haha. The Sims 4 tried and failed in my opinion. I much preferred the Sims 3's one long loading screen to the loading screens in the Sims 4, it really breaks the immersion. Also I miss the whole Sims 3 experience, walking around town, meeting people on the street, taking your own car to a friends house who lives on the other side of the city. But overall my biggest grief with the Sims 4 is how ugly the people are. I loved the Sims 3 in that it was a realistic game, I felt like I could make real people and have them live real lives. The Sims 4 without mods everyone feels like a crappy cartoon. I had to download a ton of eye, hair, and skin mods to make the people not look like barf. Another big problem I have with it is there is no transparency slider on the makeup. Haha I could think of so many problems I have with the Sims 4 but i'm not going to bother typing them all. I'm still waiting for another company to pick up a game like the Sims 4. I'm surprised no company has actually because the Sims 4 made so much money yet put out such a shitty game you think another company would jump on that bandwagon because some Sims fans are willing to buy anything for any price lol.
