Patterns. A beautiful face is a symmetrical one without too many oddities. But one oddity can be super sexy (Marilyn Monroe anyone?).
Either perfect lines or all perfect but one element really makes for a beautiful painting/picture.
If it's unique and original. Hmmm sorta like Snapzu.
Although unique, I wouldn't say Snapzu is the most original idea. Many other websites have already done a similar format before it.
