Trying to start up a the reptile loving tribe known as /t/Reptiles!
Hello everyone and welcome to /t/reptiles, a tribe for herpers, and keepers of reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates!
I'm new to Snapzu and noticed there wasn't much going on here at /t/Reptiles so I thought I give it a shot at try to build a strong herp loving community here on Snapzu! All content related to reptiles is welcome, whether it's an interesting article, advice or questions about a certain species or even just pictures of your own reptiles or herping adventures. There isn't much here yet but I think with time we can build a strong community here on Snapzu!
Since I'm new running a tribe and advice is welcome to help improve the quality of the community. And to end my first post heres a picture of my favorite lizard right now, Cairo my Red Eyed Croc Skink.

No means an expert (I don't even supervise any tribes!) but here's my advice:
First things first, you should get your level up. That itself should be easy to do when you're actively engaging with the community and respecting the site etiquette. But more importantly, at sufficiently high levels, you'll be able to put a preset pattern for the tribe banner, and a few levels after you'll even get to upload a custom banner picture. Prettying the tribe up helps. Speaking of which you should also put a picture in the profile on the right too.
Secondly Snapzu encourages cross-posting quite a bit. So apart from posting content here, submit to other related tribes too. That can help draw in traffic.
Thirdly, you could organise threads to engage tribe members more closely. They could be discussion threads on related reptilian issues, like pet maintenance. They could also be showcase threads, where people post their individual content in the comments.
Wow thanks for the helpful reply! I have started to notice to level thing being a bit of a factor right now but with time it should be ok. I'm not much of an artist so I was hoping to get some user submitted content for making to tribe page prettier in general. I'll try to make something this weekend for now. Your other 2 suggestions are also great and I will keep in mind for sure, thanks again!
