Campaign group Amnesty International says Brazil's military police have been responsible for more than 1,500 deaths in the city of Rio de Janeiro in the last five years. Amnesty says it has found evidence that police killings were often illegal, with officers shooting suspects who had surrendered or had been wounded. The video, posted on YouTube, shows a Rohnert Park Public Safety officer driving toward Don McComas as he’s filming. A Texas police officer shot and killed a black college football player in suburban Dallas Friday, according to authorities. Police were responding to a burglary call at a car dealership in Arlington and found that the 19-year-old player, Christian Taylor, had crashed a car through the dealership’s front window, the Associated Press reports. A struggle ensued in which Taylor, who was unarmed, was shot by police officer Brad Miller.

David Conley told Harris County Sheriff's investigators that he broke into his former home and killed eight people because the woman he formerly lived with had changed the locks on the doors, according to a Harris County prosecutor. During probable cause court Sunday, a prosecutor recounted Conley's statement to investigators that he broke into the home Saturday through an open window after Valerie Jackson changed the locks.

A video of a shocking encounter between a north Florida police officer and an angry driver has gone viral. Posted to the Bradford County Sheriff’s Facebook page Thursday, the dash cam video shows an officer pulling up to a man who’s SUV is already stopped in a median.
