I'm really hoping for a Kanto remake! With an improved story line and options for Kalos or Hoenn post game. Howevre I think that while the whatever they do will be exciting it might not reach our expectations.
I would really like to see a game on the Wii u based on the colosseum series, but that probably wont happen. A Kanto remake is more likely seeing as it's the only game now not remade on a DS and they did the Pokemon origins special to work mega evolution into Kanto. Then again, even more likely is a random spinoff, but we can hope.

A WiiU version of a full game would be amazing, but I've been hoping for a major cross console/handheld release since N64.

Sadly, you're right.
The point of Pokemon is to connect to other players wherever you are to battle and trade. A full game will never come to a console.
Why is that sad? I see no reason to be sad that a game won't be coming from a series built around being on handhelds.
