Trump aide Monica Crowley plagiarized thousands of words in Ph.D. dissertation
Conservative commentator Monica Crowley, who is slated to serve in a top national security communications role in Donald Trump's presidential administration, plagiarized thousands of words of her 2000 dissertation for her Columbia University Ph.D., a CNN KFile review has found. On Monday, Politico reported that it found more than a dozen examples of plagiarism in Crowley's Ph.D. dissertation. CNN's KFile has found nearly 40 lengthy instances of Crowley lifting paragraphs from numerous sources, including several scholarly texts, the Associated Press, and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

Mexican president Pena Nieto plagiarized law thesis, report says
Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto plagiarized nearly a third of his 1991 undergraduate law thesis, according to a report published on Sunday by one of Mexico's leading investigative journalists. Of the 682 paragraphs that made up the 200-page thesis, titled 'Mexican Presidentialism and Alvaro Obregon,' 197, or 28.9 percent, were found to be plagiarized, the report said.

Ed Sheeran Sued for More Than $20 Million for Alleged Plagiarism
Ed Sheeran allegedly plagiarized his Top 10 hit "Photograph," according to a new lawsuit. A lawyer representing songwriters Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard and their company HoloSongs filed a lawsuit seeking more than $20 million on Wednesday, according to The Hollywood Reporter, claiming that the single, which appears on Sheeran's X LP, bore "verbatim, note-for-note" similarities to their song "Amazing," which The X Factor winner Matt Cardle recorded in 2012.

Plagiarized figure hurts arthritis paper
A paper on a way to inhibit arthritis has been retracted following an investigation confirming that it plagiarizes a figure from another paper on the same topic. The paper, “Blockade of 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 enzyme inhibits experimental collagenase-induced osteoarthritis,” was published in Molecular Medicine Reports.
