Obama tells African leaders ‘no one should be president for life’
US President Barack Obama on Tuesday condemned African leaders who refuse to give up power at the end of their terms in office, as he made the first address to the African Union (AU) by a US leader. "Africa's democratic progress is at risk when leaders refuse to step aside when their terms end," Obama said in a speech at the AU's headquarters in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.

President Obama starts two-day Kenya visit
Barack Obama has arrived in Kenya on the first visit to his ancestral home as serving US president. During his two-day visit Mr Obama will hold talks with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and other top officials. Trade will feature strongly, but Mr Obama also said he would deliver a "blunt message" to African leaders about gay rights and discrimination.
