The principles of proper language support

This is intended to note the important general principles that must be followed so that proper language support exists without all the implementation details.

    - Users speak many languages from one to a to many. It should never be assumed that users are monolingual and discussions may occur in more than one language)

    - Links are language-less, the language belongs to the discussion

    - It can be assumed that everyone should be reasonably able to navigate an English UI but not everyone may be able to write in English.

      I'd emphasize that anywhere where we can assign a language, we should be able to assign more than one language. Many things are made in more than one language, tribes should be able to support more than one language, people can speak a variety of different languages, etc.

      I believe in time we can get rid of the last one, when the UI is available in other languages as well as English.

        Yes but if i18n resources are to be prioritized, it has to be the last item. An important one nonetheless.
