Even James Cameron Has Doubts About Avatar: The Way Of Water's Box Office Potential
James Cameron has made a lot of strong impressions during his decades-long career, from pitching "Aliens" by revealing a well-placed dollar sign to a room of execs, to (according to The Independent) being the kind of boss who will shoot your phone with a nail gun if it goes off on set. With a reputation for bold moves, I wouldn't have been surprised if Cameron had barreled headfirst into the pricey and long-gestating "Avatar" sequels with all the confidence in the world. But apparently, even he is willing to admit he has some doubts.

Val Kilmer’s ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Return: Artificial Intelligence Created 40 Models to Revive His Voice
“Top Gun” fans knew ahead of time that Val Kilmer would be reprising his role of Tom “Iceman” Kazansky in the sequel, but the specifics of the actor’s return were a question mark considering Kilmer lost the ability to speak after undergoing throat cancer treatment in 2014. Doctor Strange sequel writer talks about big-name cameos
Ever since officially unleashing the multiverse in Loki, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has largely used it as an excuse for payoffs and fan-service. That was basically the whole premise of What If…?, with its alternate versions of heroes and ultimate mega-villain (Ultron with the Infinity Stones), and it helped bring untold mountains of cash to Sony and Marvel by allowing for three different Spider-Mans to meet up in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
