+2 +1Netflix’s 6 Underground sucks the joy out of explosions
ArmageddonArmageddon and Pain & Gain are the two foundations upon which I’ve built my Michael Bay apologist house. Armageddon is genuinely ridiculous fun, as NASA recruits everyman Bruce Willis to go into space and stop an asteroid from colliding with Earth. +1 +1Review: James Gray’s Thoughtful Space-Faring Odyssey, Ad Astra, Is A Sci-Fi Heart of Darkness
*** Warning the following review contains certain spoilers for Ad Astra *** James Gray is a filmmaker known for intimate human dramas like We Own the Night, Two Lovers, and The Immigrant. After nearly three decades of writing and directing movies in this vein, he finally took a crack at a different genre, science fiction, with Ad Astra, which opens in theaters this Friday. Not only did he crush a sci-fi venture on his first try, but the movie (whose title is Latin for “to the stars”) also cements Gray as one of Hollywood’s most interesting storytellers of the last 25 years.

+1 +1Financial and Life Lessons from Independence Day (1996 Film)
Today is July 4th, and all across America, families will be celebrating our nation's independence. Hopefully, you have the day off from work and can enjoy some beautiful weather, good food, and a cold drink of your choice. When you think of the 4th of July, you usually think of children waving sparklers, barbecues, and fireworks. Besides the Americana mentioned above, you may also think of the movie Independence Day, where we celebrate Will Smith and Jeff Goldbloom fighting; not just for the nation's, but the world’s independence. Never one to pass up an opportunity to combine finance and science fiction,

+1 +1Meet Jay Shaw Author of Sci-Fi, Paranormal, and Contemporary, Romances
Today I am excited to share an interview with author Jay Shaw. Jay offers some great advice to help authors and bloggers to improve their writing and promote their work. My questions are in bold, Jay's follow in plain text About Jay Shaw Jay lives in New Zealand, where she raises her two teenagers. She loves photography, and has a partiality for tall, dark-haired, military men in thigh holsters and combat boots. But isn’t opposed to the occasional shirtless cowboy in tight denim. She spends her days having lunch with her most-excellent author friends, marathoning Netflix, and lurking on Facebook

The Crawleys will make a triumphant return to Highclere Castle, decked in pearls and braced for more melodrama, to film a “Downton Abbey” movie this summer. You can expect to see Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville and other cast members in this new chapter. “Downton Abbey,” the PBS “Masterpiece” hit that followed the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who worked for them at the turn of the 20th century in England, ended to many viewers’ dismay in Britain in November 2015, and in the United States in March 2016.

+14 +1Quentin Tarantino is developing a Star Trek movie
We live in a very bizarre world, and these days it’s usually scary bizarre instead of just weird bizarre, but entertainment news has finally swung back to weird bizarre with the announcement that Quentin Tarantino is developing a Star Trek movie. This comes from Deadline, which says Tarantino sold Paramount on a “great idea” that he had for a Star Trek movie, and the studio is now assembling a writers room that will try to turn his great idea into an actual movie. Assuming that works out well enough, Tarantino might even stick around to direct.
