UFC 200: Jones out for potential doping violation
Interim UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been pulled from his title unification bout against Daniel Cormier at UFC 200 on Saturday, after the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency informed Jones of a potential doping violation Wednesday. UFC president Dana White announced the move Wednesday during an impromptu news conference at the MGM Grand. Jones tested positive for a banned substance in an out-of-competition sample taken June 16 by USADA, said Jeff Novitzky, UFC's vice president of athlete health and performance. USADA administers UFC's anti-drug policy.

MMA fighter Kimbo Slice dies, aged 42
Kimbo Slice has died at the age of 42, it has been confirmed. MMA fighter Slice, real name Kevin Ferguson, was admitted to hospital in Coral Springs, Florida, with police reportedly asking his family for information after his admittance. However, it was confirmed later on Monday night that the former UFC fighter had died. He is survived by his girlfriend and six children.

Police are investigating a disturbing alleged attack after a video appearing to show an MMA fighter mercilessly beating a juvenile was shared thousands of times on social media. The video appears to show a man, identified by social media users as an American fighter named Tony Cojocaru, callously punch and slap a younger man in the face, head and abdomen dozens of times until he is left cowering in a foetal position on the ground.

New York passes bill that lifts 19-year MMA ban
For the first time in nearly 20 years, professional mixed martial arts is set to become a legal activity in the state of New York. The New York State Assembly passed a bill Tuesday that lifts a ban on professional MMA that had been in place since 1997. The bill passed by a vote of 113-25. It required 76 votes to pass. Assembly members offered a wide range of opinions on the bill and MMA itself.

A well-known professional mixed Martial Arts fighter has died in San Diego, the San Diego County Medical Examiner's office said. Kevin Christopher "The Monster" Randleman, 45, of Las Vegas, was in the San Diego area training and attending an event, the ME's office said late Saturday.

UFC president says Rousey, Holm will have rematch
UFC president Dana White says Ronda Rousey will get a rematch with defending bantamweight champion Holly Holm. White appeared on ESPN’s Mike & Mike on Thursday and said that although he was unsure when or where, there would be another fight. Holm shocked the previously-undefeated Rousey in November to claim the title and move to 10–0, dropping Rousey to 12–1 with a finishing kick to the head.
